The Iris family, Iridaceae, is a large group of interesting plants. Members of the Iris family, or irids as they are called, are found all over the world. Many are beautiful, and some are quite unusual. Many are important garden subjects, and therefore important economically. This is a look at some of these iris cousins. Focus will be on the plants most closely related to Irises, especially those that can be grown here either in the garden or as houseplants.
ISD member, Rodney Barton, also the President of the Species Iris Group of North America (SIGNA), will present the program.
