Iris shows are usually in April in our area.  This year it is April 24th.

What is an English Box?

If you are not familiar with this term, don't feel alone. An English Box is, unfortunately, a seldom seen type of entry in an Iris Show.   it consists of a number of blooms (no stalks) staged in florist vials on a flat surface (usually styrofoam); perfect if you don't have any show worthy stalks to bring .

Bonnie Nichols will lead us through all the hows to create the perfect English Box.

Do you grow irises?
Would you like to enter a show but have no idea what to do, or you have entered in the past and didn't do well?

Our March meeting is for you.

We will cover everything from selecting a stalk, grooming it, transporting it to the show, staging it in the show container, making out the entry tag, and getting it to the show tables.  Also, tips to help maximize your chances for winning ribbons.

ANYONE WHO GROWS IRIS CAN ENTER A SHOW ... BUT YOU DO NEED TO KNOW THEIR REGISTERED NAMES.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A CLUB MEMBER TO ENTER.

It is easy and fun and very addictive.  Come find out how.
